The Washington Association of Land Trusts (WALT) was formed in 2007, when land trusts from across the state came together to strengthen their collective ability to protect our state’s most important places. Today, WALT unites 25 nonprofit land conservation organizations across the state of Washington.

WALT is the collective voice of the land trust community. We support land trusts through advocacy, networking, training and collaboration. We further the work of our land trust members by:

• Promoting sound public policies to conserve our most beloved and critical lands.
• Advocating for funding and incentives to help landowners preserve their heritage for future generations.
• Convening game-changing conversations and spread knowledge and expertise.
• Providing trainings and resources to expand conservation capacity and success.

WALT is the catalyst to conserve Washington’s diverse landscapes – from farms and forests, to habitat and recreation.
