The Senior Director, Donor Engagement (SDDE) will develop, implement, and manage comprehensive individual giving and loyal donor programs. Areas of focus include annual multi-channel and direct giving campaigns, special campaign giving, and Donor Network membership and engagement strategies. The SDDE will also research and refine strategies to identify, cultivate, and steward new and existing donors for increased growth and retention. The SDDE will manage a portfolio of major donors ($10,000 and up) and a pipeline of new major donor prospects. SDDE supervises and coaches Leadership Giving Directors responsible for leadership-level giving ($1,000 to $10,000) and donor membership programs. Maintains accurate donor records and revenue projections and reports out accordingly to leadership and Board.
- Provide leadership and vision to research, develop, implement, and sustain strategies for securing increased and new annual and multi-year investments from individual donors
- Collaborate with marketing team--and other departments as necessary--to develop and implement multi-channel giving strategies, campaigns, digital donor journeys, and donor communications strategies
- Lead and manage Leadership Giving Directors--responsible for the success of the team’s major gifts efforts. Coaching and support team in the development and implementation of donor network engagement strategies
- Manage a portfolio of current and new major donors and prospects. Research and utilize technology tools and donor database to build donor and prospect pipelines.
- Develop year-long giving campaigns leveraging expertise in direct mail, online giving, personal solicitations, and programs to generate new and upgrade existing donors
- Create and refine loyal donor programs, donor recognition, and comprehensive thank you processes
- Work closely with Senior Director of Corporate Engagement to ensure collaboration across the department to build prospect pipelines, cultivate and steward current and new corporate partner employees (workplace donors)
- Work closely with key leadership to maximize philanthropic potential. Engage and collaborate with all departments on strategy for leadership and major giving opportunities
- As needed, work collaboratively on written proposal development, submission, acknowledgment, and subsequent reporting
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum 5 years of experience in annual giving, principal and major gift fundraising
- Experience segmenting and managing donor data
- Team leadership or management experience
- Knowledge and experience using CRM software - Salesforce a plus
- Extensive knowledge of the local community a plus
Salary: $71,000 to $80,000 per year
