Our annual grant program awards organizations in a variety of areas including health & wellness, women’s empowerment, LGBTQ homeless youth, transgender issues, cultural enrichment, equality and more.

Programs:

SCHOLARSHIPS
We provide scholarships to benefit students attending or entering college and who are active in the South Florida LGBTQ community. We identify emerging leaders and help them develop and grow through our scholarship program, which includes a component designed to facilitate collaborative and leadership skills.
MENTORING
Each scholarship recipient is paired with a mentor. The mentor’s objective is to lend support to the recipient with her education, personal development, and community goals.
INITIATIVES
AFW identifies and targets the needs of the women’s community and develops initiatives designed to motivate our community to fulfill them.

BUILDING ALLIANCES AND IDENTIFYING OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS
We create an open dialogue with our community through strategic partnerships and relationships with individuals and organizations invested in our shared vision. And, we build and strengthen relationships with mainstream organizations to foster the wellness and equality of LGBTQ women.

Why Work For Us?:

We are a very dynamic organization that has been serving the LGBTQ community since 2004.  Working for the foundation will bring a great sense of making a difference in so many people in need to advance their education or give them a chance for a better life, it is all about giving back.

To further our mission and help more people, we need  someone whose very good at fundraising, networking and collaborating with other organizations within the community, making sure that the we are going after grants within the different corporations and their philanthropy outreach.

Our Scholarship and Homelessness Program should become more robust and with bigger outreach and impact to help more people that desperately need the help.

You will be able to work independently from your own home.  Meet with the board on a monthly basis to report fundraising efforts, outreach and how the board can help in pursuing the strategies setforth by the board.

Our board is very diverse and open to suggestions or ideas that could advance our mission.
