  • Founded in 1976 by Capitol Hill community activists concerned about redlining and disinvestment.
  • Own and maintain nearly 50 apartment buildings across Seattle and White Center
  • Provide safe, affordable apartments to over 2,000 residents
  • Our organization, buildings and community projects have received over two dozen local, regional and national awards since 2000.

Community building is at our core.

From the beginning, we’ve built relationships with neighborhood organizations, and the artists, businesses, and people in those neighborhoods. Since then, we’ve grown from 11 buildings with 172 apartments in 1990 to close to 1,600 apartments today. We’ve developed amenities that not only meet the housing needs of our residents but also serve the community around them.

Programs: 

Wave Aquatics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides a range of public aquatics programs and facilities management services to Eastside Seattle-King County residents in order to enhance health, fitness, safety, recreation, and quality of life through a culture of pride, resilience, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. Founded in 1987, the organization began when Northshore, Redmond, and Totem Lake swim teams merged in order to provide more opportunity and a stronger foundation for swimmers in the Lake Washington and Northshore school district areas. Wave has operated the Juanita Aquatics Center (Juanita HS Pool) in Kirkland since 2009, and the Redmond Pool on Education Hill since 2010.


Wave's programs serve thousands of Eastside residents of all ages annually through its swim team, swim lessons, masters swim team, water polo team, fitness & wellness programs, recreational swimming and pool rentals. With Eastside pool capacity rapidly falling behind population growth, Wave Aquatics is the proven leader in aquatics management poised to partner with local governments to solve this problem by refurbishing and expanding facilities.
