The Human Diagnosis Project

Overview
Headquarters:
San Francisco, CA, USA
Annual Budget :
Under $100,000
Size:
11-50 employees
Founded:
2012
About Us
Mission:

The Human Diagnosis Project (Human Dx) is a worldwide effort, created with and led by the global medical community, to build an open intelligence system that maps the steps to help any patient. By combining the collective intelligence of doctors with machine learning, Human Dx intends to enable more accurate, affordable, and accessible care for all.

Awards & Accolades:
MacArthur Foundation 100&Change Semifinalist
Why Work For Us?:

To nearly every person on Earth, the wellbeing of oneself and one’s loved ones is the most important concern. However, perhaps the most essential question of human wellbeing is still very difficult to answer: when someone isn't well, what should be done?

Patients, doctors, insurers, foundations, governments, and many other health stakeholders struggle with this question. The information we seek is siloed in medical research, academic handbooks, disparate closed systems, and the minds of individual practitioners. However, relevant answers are not readily available in a single, open system that is universally accessible.

Diagnosis is a crucial early step in assessing, treating, managing, and ultimately curing disease. By improving humankind's fundamental understanding of clinical decision-making, the Project could elevate wellbeing for current and future generations.

Human Dx is structured as a partnership between the social, public, and private sectors. Its partners include many of the nation's top medical organizations (including the American Medical Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges, and the American Board of Medical Specialties), academic centers (including Harvard, Hopkins, UCSF, MIT, and Berkeley), and financial supporters (including Union Square Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, and the Moore Foundation).

We are looking to expand our team with exceptional people who possess a strong sense of social mission. The team includes alumni of leading organizations (e.g., the World Health Organization, the White House, Google, Facebook, McKinsey, and Blackstone) and universities (e.g., Oxford, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, and Berkeley).

Rawhide, Inc.

Overview
Headquarters:
New London, WI, USA
Annual Budget :
$10-50M
Size:
51-200 employees
Founded:
1965
About Us
Mission:

Being dependent on God, we inspire and equip at-risk youth and families to lead healthy and responsible lives through family-centered care, treatment, and education.

Programs:

Rawhide provides residential treatment for at-risk teenage boys who have suffered various types of trauma. Our New London campus hosts three residential programs: About Face, Standard Long-Term Residential, and Group Home. Each program is staffed by a married houseparent couple who fill a pseudo mother and father role to the youth. The About Face program operates as a military style program, while Standard Long-Term Residential operates in a more relaxed environment. The Group Home emphasizes the teaching of independent living skills.

In addition to residential treatment, Rawhide offers outpatient mental health counseling, equine therapy, and foster care. The youth of Rawhide are enrolled at our year-round, fully accredited high school called Starr Academy, where they are able to earn a high school diploma. At Rawhide, we train the leaders of tomorrow.

Why Work For Us?:

Rawhide has a wide range of career development opportunities. Staff who started as Resident Youth Care Workers are now Rawhide teachers, therapists, case managers, human resources professionals, youth homes managers, youth homes directors, trauma support managers, staff trainers, etc.

No matter the position you work in, you will be influencing youth who are in desparate need of help.
