Mission:

Kara’s mission is to provide grief support for children, teens, families and adults. Our guiding values are empathy and compassion. Every day we provide caring support to children and adults affected by loss and grief. Our vision is to see people of all ages compassionately supported on their journey through grief so they can move toward renewed hope and meaning. We serve individuals who are grieving a death as well as those managing a terminal illness (their own or another's).

Programs:

Change, loss and trauma are natural in the cycle of life and grief is our natural reaction. Kara offers a safe and caring environment where those coping with death and dying can express and normalize their feelings of grief. Our peer services are provided by volunteers with experience in healing from their own personal loss and are carefully screened, trained and supervised. Our support model advocates listening, speaking, and acting from the heart in service to others. Kara is a self-referral organization and our services are offered to individuals, families and organizations in the Bay Area community.

Why Work For Us?:

Guided by empathy and compassion, every day we offer caring support to children and adults and provide a space where those in grief find deep relief in the company of others. Our services are designed to be accessible, and we are funded primarily by charitable donations and the heartfelt generosity of the community we serve.

South Salt Lake, UT, USA
Size:
201-500 employees
About Us
Areas of Focus:
Mission:

The mission of The Road Home is to help people step out of homelessness
and back into our community.

Programs:

The Road Home is a private non-profit social services agency that assists individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County and along the Wasatch Front. The Road Home provides multiple services to help people overcome homelessness.

  • Emergency Shelter – The Road Home provides emergency shelter for single men, and families experiencing homelessness. Currently, The Road Home runs the South Salt Lake Men's Resource Center which serves single men, and the Midvale Family Resource Center serving families.
  • Emergency Services – Our Client Engagement Team offers assistance to low-income and homeless individuals on a walk-in basis with obtaining documents, training, and supplies needed to transition back into the workforce, remain employed, qualify for housing, and more.
  • Case Management – The Road Home’s Case Management team works tirelessly to help each individual who turns to us for assistance in identifying and overcoming the barriers causing them to become homeless. Case managers are also vital in connecting clients to community resources that help the individual leave shelter and live successfully in our community.
  • Housing – The Road Home believes that housing is the solution to ending homelessness. We provide an array of housing programs including Rapid Rehousing for families and veterans, and Permanent Supportive Housing. Each housing program is designed to help with the housing and case management support needed to successfully overcome homelessness.
Why Work For Us?:

We envision people moving seamlessly from the cold streets into warm housing; from despair and alienation toward home and inclusion. We envision a community that recognizes the inherent dignity of those who live in poverty and homelessness. The Road Home will work with all of our partners to realize this vision.

StriveTogether is a national movement with a clear purpose: helping every child succeed in school and in life from cradle to career, regardless of race, ethnicity, zip code or circumstance. Climbers for Christ

Overview
Headquarters:
Bend, OR, USA
Annual Budget :
$100-500,000
Size:
1-10 employees
Founded:
1985
About Us
Mission:

The Mission of Climbers for Christ is to encourage, equip and empower climbers to share the love of Christ with the climbing community.

Programs:

We believe that the best way to reach climbers is through relationships. This is why we are primarily organized by local chapters of like-minded climbers. Our Chapter Coordinators champion the building of authentic communities where climbers can be themselves. They are intentional about creating an atmosphere conducive to conversations and experiences related to climbing AND Jesus.

Why Work For Us?:

As climbers, we are part of a distinct people group who enjoy challenging ourselves on the rocks and in the mountains, and we naturally develop strong connections with one another through shared experiences. [Matt. 28:19-20]

We believe that the good news of the gospel offers hope for all people, and it connects us to the amazing God of the universe in a personal way. [John 3:16]

The most effective way that we can share the reason for the hope we have is by intentionally developing meaningful and supportive relationships, where we honor and serve others. [1 Thess. 2:8]

Because we have experienced the unconditional love of Christ, we are compelled to share it. [2 Cor. 5:14]
