JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:            

The Intake and Resource Coordinator assists SSVF Team in meeting the needs of homeless and near homeless veterans seeking assistance.  Conducts initial assessment functions, screening for eligibility and making appropriate referrals for veteran callers and walk-ins. In conjunction with the Team, develops and maintains a comprehensive list of housing resources and other services for referral purposes. Acts as a knowledgeable liaison to community agencies, and is responsible for promoting awareness of the VOA SSVF program. Provides follow-up to veterans as assigned and maintains positive interactions with veterans, landlords, shelter operators, and other community partners.

Skills/Experience: 

QUALIFICATIONS:                                    

Associate’s degree in communication, human services, administrator or related field or equivalent relevant experience.  One year working in administration, communications, outreach, or human services.  Experience in working with homeless populations and/or veterans.  Experience working with computers and client level data entry.  Individuals with veteran status preferred.
