About Us
Mission:

Fairfax CASA’s mission is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Through trained community volunteers, we ensure each child’s voice is heard and their safety, needs, and well-being remain at the heart of every decision.

Programs:

Fairfax CASA recruits, screens, and trains community volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for children in abuse and neglect cases. These advocates visit children regularly, gather vital information from families and professionals, write detailed reports for hearings, and ensure the child’s needs and best interests are presented to the court.

Volunteers receive ongoing supervision, mentorship, and advanced training to strengthen their skills in child welfare, trauma, education, and the court process. This continued support ensures advocates remain effective, consistent, and deeply informed as they provide stability and a trusted voice for vulnerable children.

Within the community, Fairfax CASA partners with other nonprofits, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure that Fairfax County families are receiving what they need to heal and thrive.
