The Clinic Assistant will provide support for our team of clinic evaluators in our Early Steps program serving children from birth to age three and their families.  The Clinic Assistant is responsible for the coordination of the developmental evaluation clinic for children and their families referred to the Early Steps program.  This position requires an outgoing personality, excellent customer service skills, the ability to work within time constraints, problem solving skills, and the ability to multi-task.  The position requires a high volume of family and customer contact, speaking with families on a regular basis regarding their appointment and documentation needs. The Clinic Assistant will be part of a team where independence and strong organizational skills are valued and required. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Performing general office duties
  • Answering phones and greeting guests, clients and visitors. Representing Easterseals Florida in a professional and courteous manner both over the phone and in person
  • Serve as a liaison between parents and the Early Steps program
  • Meets with families prior to the evaluation, reviews the evaluation process with the family and completes all clinic paperwork
  • Preparing client charts and filing completed documents
  • Maintains the clinic equipment and room and ensures all testing tools and supplies are available for each clinic
  • Ensuring all clinic paperwork necessary for billing and/or referral of an eligible child into services is submitted timely to appropriate staff
  • Assisting families with concerns prior to determining eligibility for the Early Steps program
  • Driving your personal vehicle to travel between the two West Palm Beach locations for program related business
Educational Background: 
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and three (3) years related experience and/or training
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of an associate's degree and one year of related experience and/or training
  • Outstanding computer skills using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Database systems
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle as required to drive for program related business
  • An energetic, creative and professional individual who will portray and promote a positive, respectful, and team-based environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet the needs of the program.
