United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area is looking for a positive and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as Fundraising Account Coordinator.  This position is full-time and United Way offers a great benefit package.  The Fundraising Account Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaning company account fundraising functions and efforts by local companies to engage their employees in raising funds.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for all related company account fundraising duties to include; outreach, coordination, account timelines for campaigns and ePledge, new business development, donor and workplace campaign retention.
  • Schedule, plan and conduct workplace campaign presentations and assist the Development Manager with other presentations.
  • Recruit, manage, train, and maintain relationships with workplace Employee Coordinator's, key campaign volunteers, and donors.
  • Coordinate efforts with organized labor liasion for campaign engagement and assessment.
  • Coordinate and assist with delivery of materials to to workplaces.
  • Work with donor database; including assissting with account management, recording of pledges, and ePledge set up.
  • Work with Development team to select award winners and ordering workplace campaign supplies and awards after obtaining proper approval from Development Manager.
  • Solicit monetary, in-kind and non-monetary donations to support United Way operations and initiatives.
  • Assist with coodination of Day of Thanks and Step-Up Incentive and other special events as needed with Development and Marketing teams.
  • Serve as support for Emerging Leaders United Affinity Group.
  • Assist with Resource Development strategic plan efforts and Board of Directors reports as assigned by Development Manager.
  • Work cross-functionally in cooperation with all staff to support the United Way as a whole.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum one year fundraising or sales experience
  • Or two years plus fundraising or sales experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Public speaking experience is required.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, internal and external.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to analyze and exercise sound judgement and problem-solving.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Position requires local travel.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
  • Vehicle insurance and up to date registration is required.
  • Travel mileage is reimbursable at the current approved IRS rate.
