The primary function of the Registered Nurse is to support the mission, purpose and values of Easterseals Capper Foundation (“ESCF”) through the delivery of nursing support and consultation with the adult services staff. This position is responsible for completing wellness monitor checks with the individuals supported identified by ESCF management personnel.
The Registered Nurse must be willing to listen, communicate and reflect while having a genuine respect for diverse perspectives and life styles in order to help individuals become more aware and confident in their own abilities to grow.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Review and monitor that medication administration records are maintained according to ESCF policy/protocol.
- Consultation with the Manager Residential Services, Program Coordinators and Direct Support Professionals to implement physician recommendations.
- Provide guidance and suggestions to the residential support staff providing direct care services to the individuals supported.
- Complete skilled wellness monitor checks with the individuals supported.
- Provide recommendations for non-nursing tasks completed by staff.
- Communicate with the individuals support team to ensure the health needs of individuals are met.
- Supports the mission and purpose of ESCF.
- Follows organizational policies and procedures.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
A current, valid Registered Nurse license issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
Skills/Experience:
- Three (3) years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse.
- Valid Kansas Driver’s license.
- Read, write and speak fluent English.
- Must be able to pass background checks per agency procedures.
