This position impacts the quality and effectiveness of speech therapy services in the on-site pediatric outpatient program. A Speech Language Pathologist will assess and treat infants and children with speech, language, oral motor, voice, and fluency disorders. Children requiring speech and language intervention most frequently have a diagnosis of developmental speech delay, autism spectrum disorders, hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders and other neurological conditions.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Perform speech therapy evaluations of infants and children as prescribed by referring physicians.
- Interpret evaluation results and develop a treatment plan including functional goals.
- Determine appropriate frequency and duration of treatment.
- Implement evidence-based treatment for infants and children with disabilities to include involving families in treatment sessions for training and collaboration.
- Create accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records system.
- Communicate with intake coordinators and business office staff to schedule and bill services in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with other members of the pediatric therapy department.
- Follow organizational policies.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master of Science, Speech Language Pathology with Certificate of Clinical Competency.
- Current licensure with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
- Experience with pediatric speech therapy preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass background checks and drug test per agency procedures.
