The Physician Outreach Liaison is responsible for the Center for Better Hearing’s referring provider partner outreach program. Maintaining contact with our existing providers and developing relationships with new providers is key to our success. Provider outreach must align with the overall marketing goals and philosophies of the organization.

This unique part time position is currently 8 hours per week and involves travel to physician offices located in the areas surrounding our offices located in Waterbury, Southbury, and Meriden.  Homebase is located in our Southbury Office.

This is an ideal position for a recently retired medical sales representative or someone that is working part time and is looking for extra hours.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Physician Outreach Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and targets practices in our 3 office catchment area to develop and sustain business relationships and referral opportunities.
  • Gathers key information regarding targeted referral partner practices.
  • Develops and maintains strong service relationships with primary care and specialty physicians through scheduled site visits.
  • Develops and builds physician/provider and referral coordinator loyalty, drives practice engagement and strengthens the organizational-practice relationship.
  • Organizes and execute activities to promote referral and relationship development that results in optimal service line utilization.
  • Report on progress in building referrals and managing practitioner relationships.
  • Completes face to face meetings with physicians, administrators, practice managers, referral coordinators, and medical staff from hospitals, medical groups and physicians to gain an understanding of their needs.
  • Develops, coordinates and implements educational programs to be presented by the clinical staff, including, screenings, lectures, CME programs and face-to-face communication with referring providers.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction as it relates to referrals and communicates service problems to the director.
Educational Background: 
High School diploma or equivalent required. An associates degree or higher strongly preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Self-starter who is able to set priorities and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, maturity of judgement, even temperament.
  • Must have proficient computer skills, ability to use fax machine, copy machine, basic Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • This position may be authorized to have access to protected Health Information (PHI) to perform specific job duties.
  • Community outreach, medical sales experience strongly preferred. Knowledge and use of social media platforms. Prior reception and/or customer service experience.
