The Corporate Engagement Advisor (CEA) works under the direction and guidance of the Corporate Engagement Director (CED) to solicit effectively individual and corporate investments in United Way of Salt Lake through the year-round management of a workplace giving account portfolio.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Manage the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of a portfolio of new and existing corporate partners
  • Provide corporate partners with training and support to engage their employees year-round through successful giving campaigns, calls to action, and volunteer opportunities
  • Articulate the mission and vision of United Way of Salt Lake to diverse company and community audiences through group presentations and individual conversations
  • Identify trends and opportunities to maximize revenue, increase donor loyalty, and meet community impact objectives
  • Build meaningful relationships with individual donors, volunteers, and advocates; artfully persuade them to deepen their engagement
  • Set ambitious, measurable goals related to relationship management and revenue forecasts
  • Seek out new and innovative ways to develop revenue streams with existing accounts, including corporate gifts and sponsorships
  • Respond to donor questions and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Collect data on campaigns, evaluate results, and proactively propose creative recommendations
  • Organize and execute special projects that support the greater corporate engagement team
  • Other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to persuade and negotiate skillfully
  • A strong desire to persuade others to get involved in social change with their communities
  • Experience managing and synthesizing information to plan, prioritize, and implement work
  • Ability to write persuasive, clear, and concise emails with minimal guidance
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and develop strong working relationships
  • Strong personal integrity, as well as professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to communicate effectively through interpersonal and written communication, active listening, and presenting to varying audiences
  • Ability and means to travel, and accommodate flexible scheduling

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fundraising or sales experience
  • Proficient at Google and Microsoft Suites
  • Knowledge and experience using both CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and project-management software a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. The employee must be able to transcribe, read extensively, prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The employee is required to regularly travel to locations outside of UWSL facilities to set-up displays and presentations in both physical and electronic forms. The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.
Compensation/Benefits: 

$41,000 to $50,000 per year
