Areas of Responsibility:
- Evaluate and treat pediatric clients in various natural environments and settings including family’s home, community, schools, and Easterseals’ clinics.
- Develop individual treatment goals, objectives and plans based upon the initial evaluation, and update plans as needed.
- Develop home and school programs and train family members and school personnel to assist children with practicing assigned therapeutic activities as appropriate.
- Instruct clients, family members and school personnel in the proper and safe usage of adaptive equipment.
- Assist in the coordination of treatment and make appropriate referrals as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer services, both internally and externally.
Documentation:
- Record client sessions, responses and progress.
- Develop and maintain progress reports and documentation in coordination with the Pediatric team.
- Attend IFSP, IEP, and/or IPP meetings as requested/available.
Educational Background:
Minimum educational requirement is a diploma from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
Skills/Experience:
- One (1) year of paid experience as a staff-level Occupational Therapist is preferred.
- Experience in the evaluation and treatment of infants, toddlers, and/or young children is preferred but not necessary.
- Spanish Speaking a plus!
Licenses/Certificates:
- Licensed as an occupational therapist in the state of California.
- Registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Position requires possession of current certificates in Adult CPR with AED and Infant/Child CPR & Basic First Aid.
- Position requires possession of a current valid California driver's license, proof of insurance and a good driving record.
- Position requires a current fingerprint clearance and background check through Department of Justice & FBI.
- Position requires pre-placement &back assessment.
- Position requires proof of negative TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
