Reporting to the Development Director, the Grant Writer works to secure funding for One Mind by writing grant proposals and providing support materials. The Grant Writer is an integral part of the One Mind Development team and engages in a variety of activities to support One Mind’s goals.
One Mind has grown substantially in recent years thanks to additional funds raised each year. There is an urgent demand to assist the Development Director to meet fundraising goals that are high but also within reach. The role will start at 20 hours per week for a 3 month term, with the possibility of an extension. As additional funds are raised, this role has potential to grow.
Location: remote, USA.

Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to private donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.

Perform prospect research on individuals, foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for additional grants.

Work with finance to gather information necessary to report to donors on current grant programs.

Familiarity with One Mind’s programs, goals and financial needs.

Awareness of potential funding sources in the mental health field.

Compose and send proposals as directed by the Development Director.

Maintain current records in database, including grant tracking and reporting.

Follow up with grant-making organization requests for additional information and supply any missing information.

Additional duties may include working with an executive board, planning fund-raising campaigns/projects.

Assisting other One Mind staff in media and communications as needed.

Proven track record in writing grant proposals and budgets that have led to secured funding.

4 or more years grant writing experience, preferably in non-profit organizations.

Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.

Outstanding grammar and research skills are essential.

Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.

Experience working in deadline-driven environments.

Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Ability to familiarize and understand One Mind’s goals and needs.

Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
