Work with United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) staff and volunteer teams to carry out UWNNS’s mission to link the community’s will and resources to improve lives. This position’s primary responsibility is to manage, coordinate, facilitate and represent UWNNS’s role in collective impact efforts across the region to reach community impact goals. This position will be a key role in supporting UWNNS’s management of the Northern Nevada Reading Coalition and will be tasked with developing neighborhood-focused impact strategies. This is a part-time position working 25 hours a week on average.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage, facilitate and represent United Way’s role in collective impact efforts across the region
- Represent UWNNS in community collaborative efforts
- Engage, convene, facilitate and support partnerships with key stakeholders and community members to collaboratively address community issues
- Monitor and report on the impact and results of collaborative efforts
- Recruit and cultivate partners that expand the reach of UWNNS’s collective impact efforts
- Build community-based relationships and partnerships within targeted areas
- Develop an understanding of needs and issues impacting communities and coordinate resources and partners to respond
- Guide community efforts toward meeting UWNNS community impact goals
- Assist in the development and implementation of communication, marketing, evaluation and strategic plans for UWNNS’s Community Impact strategy
- Develop an understanding and stay current with social and community issues
- Assist with fundraising and volunteerism efforts that support UWNNS
- Effectively represent UWNNS and build relationships in the community by engaging and maintaining contacts with local organizations, businesses, and individuals
- Clearly communicate the organization’s mission, values and resource development opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required. Graduate degree preferred
Skills/Experience:
- Relevant experience in nonprofit program management, service implementation, or partnership development
- High-level organization skills and ability to take initiative
- Experience managing data collection and reporting
- Ability to foster relationships among diverse constituents including working with individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds
- Knowledge of standard office technology, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work individually and as a team member
- Have reliable transportation, current driver’s license, and auto insurance
- Ability to pass a background check
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $20,000 to $30,000 per year
