We currently have a Disability Educator/Special Education Teacher job opportunity available. This is a full-time, exempt level position. We offer a comprehensive benefit package. Hours are late August through early June, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., 30 hours per week, 41 weeks per year, total of 1230 hours per year.
The Disability Educator/Special Education Teacher position has two primary job responsibilities.
As the Disability Educator, this individual is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the integration and disability awareness programs presented in the community and at Easterseals schools.
Also, as the Disability Educator this individual may assist with the preschool integration program.
As the Special Education Teacher, this individual will work as a substitute teacher for children with disabilities (ages 3-8) within the Easterseals education program; the substitute teacher will work at all Easterseals school locations (Baldwin/Whitehall, Murrysville/Export, Cranberry Township).
- PA Professional Teaching Certificate in Mental/Physical Handicapped, Special Education, Elementary Education and/or Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) required.
- Completion of educational credits needed to maintain license/certification required.
- Prior experience in working with children (ages birth to 8) preferred.
- Acceptable Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance through the Department of Education required.
- Passing of physical examination and TB required.
