Development is responsible for raising the financial resources needed for the organization to meet its mission. The position manages the Development Team, ensuring that the department builds strong, year-round relationships with UWWF’s constituents by connecting donors’ interests and passion to United Way’s priorities and investments.
The Director of Development works closely with the President/CEO and Board of Directors to create and adapt strategy to achieve increased community impact through financial resources. Identifying potential new workplace campaign partners and recruitment of new partnerships is a primary duty of this position. The Director of Development also plans and serves as the lead in executing all Leadership Giving Events reaching outside of the annual workplace campaign.
- Oversee the preparation, training, implementation and follow-up of all development activities, including but not limited, to the corporate workplace, public sector and school district annual fundraising campaigns; third party events; sponsorship recruitment; and recognition protocols.
- Conduct strategic planning and follow best practices to expand the workplace campaign
- Develop annual campaign timeline, leading the development and implementation of creative campaign strategies.
- Supervise development staff members
- Help identify, recruit and recognize potential leadership givers for Women United and Emerging Leaders.
- Develop meaningful ways to engage Donor Networks throughout the year including personal visits, unique events, and engagement through volunteer opportunities that connect members to United Way’s work, with emphasis on Women United.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven success in resource development
- Marketing, and/or public relations experience is helpful
- Two years of experience in a supervisory role
- Experience working with volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of donors, including high net-worth individuals
- Extensive experience in public speaking
Salary: $51,000 to $60,000 per year
