  • Responsible for the planning, coordinating and overseeing of annual fundraising efforts including: working with the volunteer leadership in planning and implementing fundraising activities, assist chair with recruiting volunteers for key roles, work with volunteers in planning and analyzing past results and goal setting, and developing and conducting specific training for groups as needed.
  • Organize, create and execute CEO visits with targeted organizations designed to increase annual support.  This includes, identifying targets, recruiting volunteers and volunteer leadership for the process, creating CEO visit packets, executing CEO visits and monitoring the overall CEO visit process.
  • Maintain and grow the Caring Club Merchant Program.
  • Develop a plan and manage volunteers as part of new account development for annual giving, this includes identifying and developing new leads for workplace fundraising and corporate gifts to the organization.
  • Represent the United Way in relevant community activities by attending community events and building relationships with individuals and businesses, specifically as it relates to improving the annual fundraising efforts. 
  • Responsible for creating materials to be used with the organization’s fundraising efforts.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of special events such as annual events, fundraising events and affinity group events.  Duties can include planning the event, managing event logistics, and developing the content of the event.
  • Provide leadership in developing and executing the organization’s donor stewardship efforts including, but not limited to, donor communication and relationship building efforts.
  • Assist with public relations and marketing functions including building relationships with media partners, distribution of communication materials and participating in social media.
  • Participate in resource development related meetings with volunteers and staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
BA or BS in business management, marketing, or public relations or equivalent experience preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Public relations, marketing and non-profit fund-raising experience
  • Outside sales or business to business experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, including making public presentations
  • Ability to establish relationships with potential donors
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of account activities
  • Skill in-tact and diplomacy when dealing with staff, volunteers, donors and the public
  • Capacity for leveraging volunteers for access to prospects
  • Ability to work with volunteers and staff. Perform related duties as assigned with minimal supervision, handle multiple priorities and pay attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office products and advanced database skills)
  • Volunteer management

**After hours work required from time to time

Experience:      

  • 3-5 years in positions demonstrating skills needed as outlined above
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
