  • Provides coaching to parents and caregivers of children within the natural environment with moderate to significant delays in development
  • Possibly support families and children by obtaining and using assistive technology equipment as appropriate for the child/family and intervention/support for all other concerns related to this discipline
  • Provides support and modeling/coaching for the child’s family around identified needs and goals
  • Implements developmental evaluations/assessments using a standardized tool or other approved evaluation tools. Ensures to generate a detailed narrative report in a timely manner
  • Assist families in developing IFSP outcomes with families and caregivers for children and the families as assigned. Monitors and reviews IFSP’s as needed and as required by the State of CT.
  • Ensures all documentation is completed within mandated timeline(s)
  • Performs all duties required as a Service Coordinator as mandated by the CT OEC Birth to Three Program
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Educational Background: 
Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or the equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • This position may be authorized to have access to protected Health Information (PHI) to perform specific job duties. 
  • of child development and competency in the discipline of Speech and Language Pathology required.
  • Ability to implement developmental approaches and best practices of early intervention for children with special needs.
  • Ability to support, coach, educate, and maintain family and caregiver involvement as part of the child’s intervention.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of speech and communication development, assistive technology, and other discipline related areas.
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle to drive is necessary. Travel within the State of Connecticut is required on an as needed basis.
  • License as specified by the CT Department of Public Health (CT-DPH) under §20-411 C.G.S.
  • CFY or CCC in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • At least one (1) year of field experience working with young children.
  • Birth to Three experience preferred.
