We are looking for a passionate, innovative, and dynamic Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist to not only join our team of evaluators, but to provide leadership for the team. The Lead Therapist works with a team of experienced evaluators conducting inter-disciplinary developmental evaluations for children aged birth to three for the purpose of determining program eligibility. The Lead Therapist also serves as a role model and leader for the team, ensuring a well-functioning, effective, and highly motivated work group. Easterseals Florida is seeking an individual who is able to develop positive relationships with children and families and is willing to coach and share their knowledge and skills with the families and other professionals.
- Provide guidance and support for the evaluation team
- Monitor team performance to ensure that required deadlines and performance standards are met
- Provide timely coaching, feedback and performance evaluations
- Ensure development opportunities are identified and opportunities for training are provided
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team and complete appropriate developmental evaluation tool to determine eligibility for the program following the established eligibility criteria
- Participate as a member of the Individual Family support Plan (IFSP) Team for each child deemed eligible in their multi-disciplinary evaluation and make recommendations of specific early intervention services necessary to meet the unique needs of the infant or toddler and the family
- Provide a written record of the services provided to be incorporated into the child's clinical record
- Participate in staff meetings and/or planning conferences for the development of the IFSP, review of procedural safeguards, and other areas of program development
- Submit all clinical and billing documentation on a timely basis
- Maintain an effective and professional working relationship with families, co-workers, and referral sources
- (Degree requirements will vary depending on the professional licensure. Licensed Physical Therapist, and Occupational Therapist are required to practice with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Licensed Speech Language Pathologist is required to practice with a minimum of a Master's degree.)
