The Donor Development Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for executing the annual United Way Campaign through partnerships with local industry CEOs and upper level management. This position will also engage current and potential donors and volunteers in active relationships during non-Campaign season. As a part of the United Way team, the Coordinator is essential to the development and implementation of United Way’s strategies to engage donors and improve its revenue position. This role requires the candidate to be a leader who has the demonstrated ability to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Work with the Campaign Chair to plan and implement the execution of the annual United Way Campaign including fundraising strategy, volunteer recruitment/training, and reporting.
  • Work on a regular basis with employee campaign coordinators to customize company campaigns and events which include managing multi-project details, setting & meeting deadlines, and making decisions in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Along with additional United Way Staff, develop annual communications plan and implement via campaign print materials, video, and digital communication.
  • Manage donor database, compile and analyze contribution reports for Campaign volunteers, and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Initiate, cultivate, and implement strategies to maintain relationships with partners, donors, and volunteers.
  • Develop effective strategies for year-round donor engagement and fundraising.
  • Participate in community activities which contribute to the acquisition and retention of individual and corporate donors
  • Assist in growing the United Way’s community development role: attend all United Way events (Kickoffs, Mini-Tri, Community Investment Day, and others), represent the United Way positively at other public events, participate in other partners’ community events, and engage in opportunities that further personal/professional development.
  • Collaborate with Office and Events Administrator to complete campaign administrative tasks.
  • Assist the President/CEO with other needs of the organization.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or commitment to personal/professional development.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Interpersonal communication skills: oral & written communication.
  • Effective public speaking skills.
  • Organization skills for a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Huntington County.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Publisher.
  • Minimum three years of experience in donor development, fundraising, sales, or a related field.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $31,000 to $40,000 per year
