Direct Support Professional, Aspire Day Services

Direct Support Professionals (DSP) work hands-on with individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities assisting them with completing their goals, assisting with feeding and toileting, following therapist/nutrition specialist recommendations, daily cleaning and transporting clients as needed.   

We are currently hiring part-time and on-Call DSPs.  Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., M, T, Th, F; 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Wed.

Basic Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to lift 40 pounds frequently and 70 pounds occasionally
• Ability to assist program participants in activities including kneeling, crouching, reaching, and bending
• Ability to transfer with assistance individuals who weigh up to 250 pounds
• Ability to push large adults in wheelchairs

Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or pass a reading/comprehension test and be at least 18 years of age. 
• One to two year experience with individuals who have development disabilities preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and an insured vehicle. 
• Obtain/maintain First Aid and CPR Certification. 
• Complete Medication Administration Training and pass Core A and B within the first 120 days of employment. 
• Complete annual training as required by August 31. 
• Must be willing to work as a team player, be organized, and follow through with directions. 
• This position requires staff to accurately document consumer information and communicate effectively with consumers, staff and management. 

Additional Notes:Starting pay is $9 per hour and offers incremental raises up to 45 cents within the first year. EOE/Minorities/Females/Veterans/Individuals with a Disability.
