Position Summary: This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 225,000 guests annually. This position develops and implements strategies to create and strengthen relationships in order to advance both our mission and philanthropy at YMCA of the Rockies, with a special emphasis on leading philanthropic efforts, including securing five figure gifts, at Estes Park Center. Furthermore, this position works collaboratively with the VP of Advancement to lead and support philanthropy and membership team members located at the Associations Executive Office.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and support philanthropy and membership team members located at the Associations Executive Office, understanding the Associations strategic financial development goals with specific focus on Estes Park Center philanthropic efforts.
- Direct supervision of multiple full-time staff.
- Serve as a right hand to VP of Advancement.
- Work collaboratively with the VP of Advancement and other appropriate staff to identify existing and prospective donors and create intentional relationship building strategies through the assignment of personal visits, telephone calls/video conference and other correspondence.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of donors from Colorado, and other locales, who have the potential to become significant contributors with gifts of $25,000 and above for the annual/programmatic funding, capital projects and endowment.
- Understand and execute on the ability to align donor interest with the philanthropic needs of YMCA of the Rockies.
- Help create a philanthropic culture that is focused on relationship building and provides opportunities for the entire Association to become involved with and engaged in the advancement of our mission.
- Maintain a successful donor cultivation process proficiently tracking gifts, relationships and moves management in donor database - Raisers Edge.
- Spearhead continued exploration and implementation of tactics to invite next generation giving.
- Expand corporate and foundation relationships to support philanthropic goals and advance the mission of YMCA of the Rockies. Oversee grant application work.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Three to five years of successful experience in major or planned gift fundraising, non-profit experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to bring forward ideas and take action to implement ideas as agreed upon, understand continuity between strategic goals and fine attention to detail in plan execution, and meet campaign goals.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently lead a team and handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation Package and Employee Perks:
- Year-round, full-time position paying $63,000 - $70,000/year
