The United Way of El Paso County is an independent, locally governed and community-supported nonprofit agency that is focused on identifying and making a measurable change in four areas: Education, Basic Needs, Health and Financial Stability through funding, advocacy, creating collaborative partnerships, and developing volunteer resources. The organization, which has been in El Paso for more than 95 years, focuses on creating long-term, lasting change to make El Paso a better community for everyone. United Way also serves as the manager/fiscal agent for the city, county and state employee campaigns.
The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the mission of United Way of El Paso County (UWEPC) by developing strategies to grow and enhance affinity groups; leading community partnerships and service learning opportunities; and supporting workplace giving efforts.
Community Partnerships and Service Learning
- Manage and lead community partnership and service learning opportunities:
- Collaborate with UWEPC Community Impact and Resource Development teams to identify and coordinate corporate engagement opportunities;
- Oversee online volunteer portal, Volunteer El Paso and coordination with local partners to ensure the site is used to its full potential;
- Plan and execute volunteer recognition and “thank you” efforts.
CROSS FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a portfolio of workplace giving accounts in cooperation with Resource Development.
- Work effectively with other teams at United Way to provide appropriate support and value to partners. Leverage relationships to create additional opportunities with other organizations and individuals.
- Two years of volunteer or work experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to the duties of the position.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of early morning, evening, and weekend work.
Salary: $31,000 to $40,000 per year
