This position is responsible for directing donor cultivation, education, solicitation, stewardship, and prospecting of major gifts ($10k+) in support of Mile High United Way's fundraising efforts.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develops, cultivates and maintains major gift donor relationships within the assigned portfolio of donors. The average portfolio size of donors and prospects is 200.
- Builds strong, authentic relationships and creates a donor cultivation strategy for all current donors in assigned portfolio.
- Implements annual and long-range plans for donors within portfolio.
- Personally identifies and cultivates prospective donors within industry alignment/prospect portfolio. Additionally, works with team members and volunteer ambassadors to identify prospects through various channels
- Helps to recruit volunteer Tocqueville Society Ambassadors.
- Works with volunteer ambassadors to execute fundraising plans, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: provides Salesforce meeting reports and meeting preparation reports, follows up with ambassador for results of their involvement, and tracks ambassadors' help in Salesforce.
- Attends all Tocqueville Society networking and volunteer events and actively participates in all relevant external-facing events hosted by our organization.
- Collaborates with Corporate Relations team members to identify and cultivate donors within our corporate partnership accounts.
- Supervise and mentor fundraising staff at the leadership level.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintains security and confidentiality of all division documents and files.
- Maintains a positive image of Mile High United Way.
- Provides support to other department and corporate priorities, as needed (e.g. strategic plan, annual budget, special initiatives, etc.).
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with other departments.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, humanities, or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience:
- 3 -5 years successful experience in fundraising, portfolio management, and one-on-one solicitation. Proven solicitation experience of gifts $10,000 and higher and experience closing multi-year gifts preferred.
- 3-5 years of demonstrated excellent relationship management and customer service with donors, volunteers, and/or accounts.
- Additional successful experience in funds development including, proposal writing, prospect research, volunteer management, annual individual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and donor cultivation and recognition.
