Responsible for overall development and administration of United Way of Denton County (UWDC) Community Impact Health and Mental Health collective impact initiatives, with primary responsibility of leading the efforts of the Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership (DCBHLT) to improve the planning, coordination, oversight, and implementation required to create systems change for behavioral health services in Denton County.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Overall project and grant (including state and federal) management of UWDC Health and Mental Health initiatives, including veterans and food initiatives.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Dir. Of Community Impact, work closely with DCBHLT leadership (31-member appointed team) to facilitate DCBHLT activities.
  • Lead UWDC advocacy efforts targeted at improved coordination of health and mental health services across Denton County.
  • Conduct research, collect/analyze data, and support efforts of the DCBHLT to seek new or sustain existing funding.
  • Responsible for all administrative and logistical activities consistent with UWDC’s role as a backbone organization for health and mental health efforts.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of ongoing efforts to assess the needs of the community.
  • Build and enhance collaborative relationships that support UWDC collective impact efforts.
  • Supervise staff, interns, and/or volunteers of UWDC health and mental health collective impact efforts.
  • Represent UWDC on local health and mental health coalitions.
  • Contribute to the Information and Referral program – connecting clients in need to appropriate resources.
Educational Background: 
Undergraduate degree required with at least five years relevant experience or graduate degree with experience in community development, public administration, or macro-level social work.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience working in Health and Human Services, Public Health, Mental Health, Community Development or related field.
  • Experience in program development and macro-level system change, including planning, evaluation, and education.
  • Grant writing and administration experience preferred (including state and federal).
  • Exhibit strong written, verbal and facilitation skills in order to collaborate effectively with volunteers, stakeholders, community leaders, and elected officials.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate large groups with diverse representation of professional backgrounds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and have the ability to manage multi-level projects and priorities.

Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
