The Resource Development Coordinator, under the direction of the Resource Development Director, is responsible for researching, contacting and securing individual donations and employee workplace campaign donations and corporate sponsorships. They also facilitate existing donor engagement, recognition, and retention. The Resource Development Coordinator will also assist with UWDC fundraising activities including: workplace giving campaigns, county-wide partnership development, and long-range strategic planning for the securing of financial resources.
United Way of Denton County (UWDC) has raised more than $20 million over the last ten years through its annual campaigns and fundraising efforts. UWDC currently raises between $2 million and $2.5 million annual to support county-wide collective impact initiatives, partner agency programs and community impact initiatives. UWDC helps people across Denton County – children, families, veterans, people experiencing homelessness, and people affected by mental illness. We work collaboratively with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and United Way of Tarrant County and a growing number of local non-profit organizations to bring the most help to people living in Denton County. We are constantly evaluating needs, closing gaps, and building assets to create the best Denton County for all of us. The Resource Development team works to plan and conduct activities that generate donations to support our mission of improving lives in Denton County.
Basic Functions:
- Support UWDC resource development activities through involvement with all aspects of workplace and leadership giving. This position entails heavy utilization of Andar360, UWDC’s donor relationship database and Andar360’s ePledge system.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Research, contact, cold call to secure donations, workplace campaigns and corporate grants and sponsorships
- Represent UWDC in the community to expand existing and build new partnerships that increase resources
- Participate in the creation of an annual Resource Development plan
- Participate in Campaign Cabinet planning and deliberation
- Support and maintain Andar360’s e-Pledge workplace giving software platform for UWDC ePledge campaigns
- Process workplace campaign donations and pledges
- Responsible for leading the Texas State Employee Charitable Campaign for UWDC’s five county contract
- Produce annual Leadership donor letters; provide staff support to the Leadership Giving chair
- Plan and lead UWDC’s annual Leaders On Loan program
- Assist in the training of workplace Employee Campaign Coordinators
- Produce reports pertaining to all Resource Development efforts
- Prepare bank account deposits for UWDC
- Oversee annual direct mail campaign
- Produce and oversee the accuracy of all campaign reports
- Assists with workplace giving kick-offs and events
- Provide support at resource development special events
- Perform end-of-campaign analysis of donor and giving trends
- Update resource development content on UWDC’s website using a JOOMLA content management tool
- Assists with other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Demonstrated success at planning and conducting activities that achieve fundraising (or sales) goals.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Office365, Constant Contact. Excel proficiency required.
- Experience with ANDAR 360 and/or other fundraising software application strongly preferred.
- Highly professional with strong verbal and written communication skills including public speaking.
- Must be detail-oriented, multi-tasking, self-motivated, team-oriented and able to manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Ability to work collaboratively across a team of highly motivated professionals, staff and volunteer, who are passionate about the mission of UWDC and raising donations to support our mission.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, own vehicle, cell phone and be able to travel throughout Denton County as required to fulfill the duties of the position.
- Must pass criminal history background check.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree plus two to five years experience in resource development required. Or at least five years of experience meeting fundraising or sales goal in a donor/customer-facing role, corporate relations, community relations, business development, or marketing.
Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
