Patient Care Coordinator and Office Support

This position is responsible for the collaboration between the patients of the dental center, staff and other resources available to patients to support the patient in overcoming barriers that keep them from getting regular dental care. This position will work directly with the practice manager to develop and enhance procedures that help the center to maintain high participation levels and meeting the needs of the patient. He or she will take an active role in resolving problems that interfere with patient’s ability to keep their
appointments.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Assist patients with enrollment to Medicaid and Dr. Dynasaur.
  • Connect patients with key service providers and following up to ensure that problems are resolved;
  • providing forms/applications for services and assisting employees with paperwork; making inquiries on
  • behalf of the patient when appropriate.
  • Establish relationship with the local 2-1-1 representative.
  • Schedule appointments and receive payments on procedures.
  • Assist Practice Manager with generating reports and data collection.
  • Assist Practice Manager with department meetings.
  • Organize resources using the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to the
  • significant needs of the client.
  • Work with volunteers to expand the capacity of the center.
  • Conduct patient intake and data entry.

Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience working in a dental practice.
  • Experience in community or public health coordination
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, data base

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Offer of this position is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, credit check, and review of the Office of Inspector General to search against the exclusion database.
  • Valid Drivers’ license and access to reliable vehicle.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $31,000 to $40,000 per year
