Summary:
Easter Seals Massachusetts is seeing a Peer Support and Pre Vocational Skills developer to provide community based support to individuals living in SE MA. This includes training, instruction, and mentoring to individuals with disabilities about self-advocacy, civic participation, leaderships, benefits, teaching life skills such as task completion, problem solving in the community, safety, and social skills training.
Basic Responsibilities:

Assess participant’s pre-employment needs that arise as a result of his or her functional limitations and abilities.

Develop an Activity Intervention Plan to develop pre vocational skills.

Provide peer to peer mentoring in community based settings to individuals with a wide range of disabilities in either small groups or one to one.

Enhance the skills of individuals to function in the community or family home.

Travel to community locations to work directly with individuals.

Document progress towards goals.

High School or Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.

Background in health and human services and interacting with persons with disabilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Able to work flexible hours.
-
Able to work independently or in groups with minimal supervision in multiple sites.

Able to communicate effectively by phone and in person with professionals and clients with various disabilities.
