The Individual Engagement Associate is responsible for managing the solicitation and renewal of the outside the workplace portfolio, maintaining and building relationships, and working to meet the goals of the Cole Society in growth and retention within the outside the workplace portfolio. The objective is to raise dollars, achieve annual goals, and identify opportunities for growth in existing and new donors while engaging lapsing donors to meet and exceed goals. It is essential that this role work collaboratively with a high attention to detail, with superb problem-solving skills while managing a high-volume workload and produce a high level of quality in all work. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

This role supports the goals of

  • Growing and maintaining the base of support to United Way, ensuring donor database accuracy to drive correct data and analytics through individuals outside the workplace.
  • Organizational Transformation Goals: (Goal 2.1) Transform corporate relationship from campaign focus to strategic corporate partner.  (Goal 3.2) Enhance Individual investors’ experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve strategies to engage lapsing donors giving $250 or more to the Child Well-Being Impact Fund both outside the workplace and inside the workplace, were accessible.
  • Develop a stewardship plan for increased donor retention, at $250 or more, and deeper engagement of Cole donors in the outside the workplace portfolio.
  • Manage time wisely to ensure agreed upon goals and communications are met ensuring quality conversation and solicitation.
  • Responsible for managing timeline and execution of follow-up with donors.
  • Work closely with all workplace fundraising staff to provide lapsing Cole donor support as needed.
  • Manage account portfolio focused on raising resources and exceeding goals for outside the workplace campaign.
  • Develop and implement a year-round communication plan for donors
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on updating individual donor and campaign information in CRM including, but not limited to, volunteer interest, programmatic interest, Individual Engagement tool, other community engagement, and connections to United Way donors and volunteers. 
  • Manage reports on a daily basis, updating calls and results in real time. 
  • Work closely with Donor Analytics team and Pledge Processing as necessary to ensure donors are current and develop best practices for capturing information. 
  • Investigate solicitation results that have not arrived and secure results.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, 2+ years of fundraising and/or sales experience, and commitment to personal/professional development.
Skills/Experience: 

This role requires a balance of project management skills and the ability to create philanthropic solutions for our current corporate supporters and new business prospects.

  • Ability to analyze numbers for discovery and planning purposes & maintain CRM records.  
  • Able to retain and grow contributions from donor base
  • Ability to develop & maintain an accurate database in CRM
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
  • Superb written, presentation, persuasion and listening skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent project management skills - attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Organization skills for a fast-paced work environment.
  • Sound judgment, discretion and commitment to maintaining donor confidentiality
  • Commitment to excellence, accountability, transparency, and UWGA’s mission
  • Experience with CRM/database management.
