The Resource Development Manager (RDM) is responsible for developing, executing, and achieving UWABC’s fundraising and donor engagement objectives within a portfolio of both workplace and direct mail accounts. The successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of United Way’s mission and vision by utilizing extensive knowledge and skills in the areas of fundraising, B2B relationship development, and account management.
- Works collaboratively with the Development team and other departments to meet annual revenue and engagement objectives.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, account campaigns, and overall results. Monitor performance of campaigns, providing ad hoc and progress reports and projections as needed.
- Maintain thorough documentation of account activity and history in donor database (Andar). Update donor database with campaign information; use campaign reports to provide analysis on company giving trends and churn analysis.
- Manage a portfolio of 100 workplace accounts; cultivating relationships with campaign coordinators, C-Suite management and other volunteers; focusing on growing employee engagement and giving efforts.
- Assist in the management of the ePledge process, establishing for corporations, monitoring incoming gifts and ensuring smooth receipt and acknowledgment process, as well as the overall collection and reporting of pledged assets.
- Sets reasonable, responsible and achievable goals for assigned accounts.
- Receives general direction from director and works independently within organizational and department strategies and objectives to achieve results.
- Participate in identifying potential prospective new donor channels.
- Represents United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County in the community and with accounts via public speaking opportunities, face to face meetings, and networking activities.
- Supports employee volunteer projects to ensure a positive experience with United Way.
- Ability to work with diverse staff, account leadership and volunteers.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills – public speaking, active listening and formal/informal business writing.
- Ability to set goals and objectives, and use appropriate analytic techniques and tools to regularly update projections.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion and independent judgment and/or action in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Strong commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality of donor information.
- Proficient with Google and MS Office.
Working Environment:
- 40% of time in a typical office environment, 60% in account settings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs.
Salary: $31,000 to $40,000 per year
