To assist with implementing strategies to cultivate long-term, comprehensive relationships with philanthropic and government partners that align with United Way’s strategic goals in the areas of education, income and health. The position will be the key driver of identifying and securing local, state and national grant opportunities. S/he will manage, and assist in growing a portfolio of foundation, government and other institutional resources to ensure a diverse revenue stream for UWSC. S/he will execute full range of activities required to prepare and submit grant proposals and reports. The position works very collaboratively across departments to ensure that deadlines are met, proposals are of the highest quality and grantor expectations are met.
- Writing (50%) – development and submission of grant proposals, grant reports and other documents for funding opportunities.
- Prospecting (25%) – research, analysis, and tracking funding opportunities.
- Process (10%) – continuous refinement of processes and procedures, collaboration across departments
- Engagement (5%) – cultivation of relationships with specific, predetermined, current and potential funders/investors.
- Support (5%) – assistance with writing and/or developing presentations, letters or other documents for the department.
- Reporting and communications (5%) – internal grants and goals progress reports, quarterly grants meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing all aspects of grant.
- Ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
- Outstanding demonstrated written and verbal communications including samples.
- Competent in MS Office products.
- Interest in the improvement of the Summit County community.

PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Position is primarily a normal office setting, requiring long periods of sedentary work at a desk and computer.
- Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office, walking, climbing stairs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop.
- Extensive reading.
- Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be willing to work non-standard work schedule including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours on occasion.
- After-hours event attendance occasionally.
