Jefferson Hills

Overview
Headquarters:
Lakewood, Colorado, USA
Annual Budget :
$10-50M
Size:
51-200 employees
Founded:
1993
About Us
Mission:

Jefferson Hills provides safe and supportive treatment programs and learning environments, preparing children, adolescents, and families in need of mental health, human services, and/or youth corrections services, to function more effectively in their communities.

Programs:

At Jefferson Hills, that is what our dedicated hard-working team does every day.  We pride ourselves on our innovative and adaptable approach when taking on the individual challenges each child/youth and family is facing. Currently we are seeking out an education coordinator/special education teacher to join our team working in our day treatment program, with mainly youth who are on the spectrum.

Our interdisciplinary team coordinates care and treatment, giving the children/youth and families the tools they need to move forward.  Together we are committed to social justice and inclusion while maintaining a non-judgmental approach. If this sounds like the kind of life-changing career path you want to be a part of, apply with your resume, and join our goal of a brighter future for Colorado’s families.

Education Coordinator / SPED Teacher Description:

Our education coordinator/teacher will work directly with our management team and students providing a safe and predictable environment.  This hybrid position will be responsible for assisting the program director with required student documentation, attending student team meetings, communicating with the state and school districts to ensure coordination of service and relevant requirements, staff development, and much more.

Additionally, through creativity and individualized programming, you would develop a curriculum that is as unique for each student as they are.  This person would be a key player in engaging and encouraging our students with diverse behavioral and mental health issues in a small private school program, as well as being a role model and developing an effective team.

Why Work For Us?:

Jefferson Hills is a trail blazer in providing intensive residential programs since 1993.  In 2011, we started our hospital alternative and child/youth crisis stabilization units.  Through evidence-based practices and a therapeutic approach, we have served over 12,000 Colorado youth, ages 5-18 ½ in our CSU programs.  Our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed clinicians, certified teachers, milieu counselors, teacher’s aides, and administrative personnel work together to meet the needs of our youth through New Vistas CSU and our day treatment program (Jefferson Hills Academy).

About Us
Programs:

APA is an organization unlike any other, founded in 1997 by five U.S. Presidents and General Colin Powell we’re uniquely poised to create coalition and change on a national scale. Our goal is to bring the most inspiring youth-supporting organizations and leaders together in authentic community with one another, foster a commitment of radical support among leaders and organizations, and focus our efforts on both organizational improvement and building powerful coalitions for systemic change.

While we believe a shared learning and aligned action is essential, it does not happen on its own. It takes serious intentionality, design, and stewardship. Over nearly 3 decades, APA has had the privilege to be in conversation with some of the inspiring youth-supporting leaders across the nation. As a result, 2022 marks the launch of APA’s next chapter -- a reimagined Alliance that will seek to provide the infrastructure and stewardship necessary to ensure effective sharing and collaboration among youth-supporting organizations at national scale.
