Are you passionate about promoting good nutrition at an early age?  We are looking for a professional and courteous Food Service Coordinator to portion and deliver daily snacks and meals to the classrooms in our Igoe-Amar Child Development Center located in West Palm Beach.  The Food Service Coordinator ensures the safe and sanitary storage of food and supplies.  The Food Service Coordinator is also responsible for tracking, calculating and reporting the daily meal counts for the program.  Additionally, the Food Service Coordinator will provide coverage in the classroom as needed during staff break periods and in times of high child census.  The Food Service Coordinator must have or be willing to obtain a food handling certificate. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Receive meals from our food vendor
  • Portion and deliver meals and snacks to the classrooms
  • Track daily meal counts, maintain inventories of food, kitchen supplies and equipment
  • Modify meals for special dietary needs
  • Maintain an organized and clean kitchen and follow all sanitary regulations set forth by the State of Florida and other regulatory agencies
  • Prepare and participate in USDA Food Program audits
  • Provide coverage in the classroom during staff break periods and in times of high child census
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of personal integrity and maintain professional boundaries with clients and staff
Educational Background: 
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and one to three months experience and/or training.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Food handlers certification or ability to obtain one upon hire
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on the needs of the program
  • Successful completion of the Florida Department of Children & Families 45 hour Child Care Training or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet the needs of the program
