Under the supervision of the site supervisor and Manager of Supported Employment, the Janitorial Assistant is responsible for performing any and all janitorial tasks as directed. He/she is responsible for knowing the cleaning techniques taught at Easterseals and is responsible for independently using proper equipment and cleaning solutions. The Janitorial Assistant spends the majority of the workday performing general office cleaning; vacuuming, dusting, removing trash, cleaning restrooms, sweeping and mopping stairs and stairwells, hallways, bathrooms and other areas as directed. Responsible for working independently within assigned facility.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Performs janitorial tasks as directed, including cleaning entire area of responsibility (remove trash, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning restroom/s)
- Mixes proper cleaning solutions
- Utilizes and maintain cleaning equipment
- Replaces supplies of soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
- Assists in checking the overall quality of area of responsibility.
- Performs all other assignments as directed.

Educational Background:
High school Diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- This position may be authorized to have access to protected Health Information (PHI) to perform specific job duties.
- Knowledge of janitorial techniques.
- Experience in related field required.
