Under the supervision of the CFO/COO, the Information Technology Specialist will serve as Easterseals first point of contact as the internal IT helpdesk, provide maintenance of desktop computers, servers, laptops, tablets, printers, and related electronic equipment. Responsible for providing collaborative, timely and accurate problem solving support care. Will be called upon to research and evaluate hardware and software solutions for the effective and efficient operation of the Agency. Tasks include end user support, light day travel between Connecticut sites, working with and supporting outside consultants, license tracking, technology security and performing maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
This is a Full-Time, 40 hrs position with Benefits. Position to service multiple locations in CT.
- Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
- Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on prioritization, determined in collaboration with supervisor
- Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for local workstations
- Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software
- Work in conjunction with outside consultants regarding network architecture, remote accessibility, backups, virus protection, email protection, monitoring, and general oversight to afford security, protection and data integrity of network systems
- Document internal procedures, passwords, etc.
- Be available to assist in emergency situations that involve or require electronic technology support
- Assist with onboarding of new users
- Assist in running wiring/cable patch/installation of cable terminals on occasional installations, where/when necessary
- Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, printer if required and any additional specialized equipment
- Install, configure and test new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
- Report issues to the COO/CFO for escalation
- Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
- Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory in conjunction with the Human Resources department
- Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
- Install, maintain and repair computer hardware (terminals and peripherals) as needed
- Diagnose and resolve computer related issues
- Provide technical assistance, support, and advice regarding hardware, software, etc.
- Set up and monitor security measures
- Read technical manuals, confer with end users and conduct computer diagnoses to determine the nature of problems and provide technical assistance
- Forecast future hardware/software needs including upgrades and replacements
- Document issues and resolutions related to hardware/software installations, licenses, maintenance, etc. in a timely, accurate and complete manner
- Makes recommendations and orders hardware/software once approved for purchase
- Perform other related duties as required.
