The Department of Global Health at Save the Children US seeks an undergraduate or graduate level summer intern to provide knowledge management support to the Reproductive Health Team. The candidate will also support select maternal & newborn health and family planning projects on research and evaluation reports, which can include data management and analysis tasks. . Finally, the candidate will provide knowledge management and communications support to the USAID-funded Services de Santé à Grand Impact (High Impact Health Services) Project , a program that works in partnership with the government of Mali to implement and scale-up health service strengthening interventions to reduce the preventable causes of maternal, newborn, and child mortality.
As an intern or skilled volunteer, you will have the opportunity to network with other Save the Children interns, volunteers and employees and participate in learning sessions about various topics spanning the breadth of Save the Children's work. Through this experience, you will gain a greater understanding about how the international development community intersects with the private sector. You will also gain transferable skills that are applicable to a variety of roles, particularly in the non-profit industry, marketing, sales, and client services.
- Develop, copy-edit, and format briefs for newborn health and adolescent sexual & reproductive health programs
- Conduct qualitative data analysis to support research evaluations for family planning programs
- Conduct desk reviews and contribute to research focused on strengthening the quality of antenatal care services
- Manage resources for the Health & Nutrition Resource library and support overall internal knowledge management processes for reproductive health program resources, as needed
- Copy-edit and format technical briefs for the Services de Santé à Grand Impact project
- Current undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated focus or interest in global health, sexual and reproductive health, adolescent health, maternal health, and/or newborn health
- Strong written and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent English written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills.

- To be classified as an intern: (Minimum requirement is a letter of support and documentation is required only after an internship offer is accepted.)
- An individual who is not enrolled as a student or able to receive credit from their institution may apply to an internship, however will be classified as a skilled volunteer, not as an intern.

- Graphic design or copy editing experience
- Data analysis experience for monitoring and evaluation projects, especially with qualitative data
