The Social Behavior Change fellow will provide program coordination and technical support to the Behavior Change and Community Health team within the Department of Global Health at Save the Children in Washington DC. The team works on a portfolio of on-going and new programs, with significant social and behavior change and community capacity strengthening components, and provides technical guidance across the Save the Children Federation by sharing program experiences and lessons learned. The fellow will contribute towards the team’s knowledge management and collaborate with members of the team on various deliverables including developing written materials, webinars, and presentations, completing desk reviews, and contributing to the team’s work in innovation around social and behavior change and community capacity strengthening
The fellow would provide support to the SBC team in finalizing several key items including:
- Community Mobilization Training Kits: work with key DGH teams to finalize two separate kits on two key community mobilization approaches so that they are updated, have key content integrated, and are ready to disseminate.
- The fellow will review case studies, existing documentation, and collect experiences within DGH on the use of these materials for use on the final projects
- Knowledge Management updates: update key team information on Save the Children databases
- Review of SBC strategy development online tool: review and provide input on the online tool for improvements and for finalization
- Community Indicators: assist with documenting SBC indicators at different levels
- Communication and coordination with key people within DGH for conceptualizing and adapting materials
- Desk review of key SBC and Community Mobilization approaches and best practices
- Desk review of SBC and Community Mobilization indicators
- Experience in health communication, public health promotion, or behavioral sciences, or related field.
- Abilities and experience in SBC materials development, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of SBC interventions.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, collaboration experience, and creativity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in team situations.
- Fluent oral and written English communication skills is required. Basic French communication skills desired but not necessary.
