The Kitchen & Facilities Support staff will provide support to the Head Chef and Director with cooking assistance, cleaning, toilet maintenance and small facilities fixes, as well as garbage hauling as primary duties, with other duties to be assigned by the director.
Areas of Responsibility:
Kitchen
- Responsible for cooking tasks as assigned by the Head Chef.
- Responsible for preparing dining hall prior to meals.
- Sweep and mop kitchen, dining room, and restroom floors as scheduled.
- Assist in disposing of garbage and trash daily.
- Clean dining hall restrooms daily.
Laundry
- Responsible for camp laundry including kitchen and camper soiled laundry.
- (Cabin staff will deliver laundry)
- Housekeeping and maintenance
- Responsible for spot cleaning the cabin bathrooms and bathhouse once daily, and cleaning them fully once during each session (mid-week)
- Responsible for restocking paper products once daily in all bathrooms.
- Responsible for unstopping/snaking toilets and some toilet maintenance.
- Responsible for replacing light bulbs.
- Responsible for other tasks as assigned by the director.
Activities Support
- Responsible for supporting some activities, and attending all evening events to participate with the campers and staff.
Skills/Experience:
- Possess a current Food Handler’s certificate.
- Ability to work well with fellow kitchen staff.
- Willingness and ability to adjust to camp resources, conditions and programs.
- Ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of position including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, squatting, twisting, reaching overhead, walking on wet surfaces, long hours standing, and working in extreme temperatures.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Must have current CPR.
