Areas of Responsibility: 

The associate manager of philanthropic and nonprofit partnerships is responsible for identifying, researching, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with new and existing foundation partners. A successful candidate will understand our mission to inspire and support excellence in nonprofit governance and board and staff leadership. The associate manager will be responsible for an individual portfolio of new and existing relationships with foundation and/or organizational partners to achieve an individual revenue goal that supports a team goal of approximately $3 million. In addition to these individual responsibilities, the associate manager will support the director of philanthropic and nonprofit partnerships in stewarding and supporting the organization’s most critical organizational relationships. Responsibilities for this position include researching potential funders, developing proposals and contracts, stewarding current and potential foundation partners, donor outreach and cultivation, and reporting on grant progress, as well as collaborating with our internal program teams.

Skills/Experience: 

The ideal candidate is an exceptional foundation grant writer with at least two years of foundation fundraising experience and demonstrated success in building relationships with funders.  Candidates must be skilled in identifying, researching, cultivating, and soliciting new funders and stewarding, tracking, and reporting on active grants.  Individuals must have the ability to deepen partnership relationships to encourage renewals and upsell opportunities.  A high degree of professionalism with exceptional persuasive written, oral, and presentation skills are a must to be successful in this role.  The individual in this role must have knowledge of the nonprofit sector, including capacity building and the role of boards in leading and governing nonprofit organizations.
