The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) has a great opportunity for an Associate Individual Giving Advisor in the Providence or Rhode Island area!

The Associate Advisor, Individual Giving is r esponsible for driving the strategic stewardship and donor engagement process for assigned geographic area leveraging Affiliate and National events and activities as well as creating and implementing new engagement opportunities. The Associate Advisor is also responsible for ensuring assigned AHA Giving Society (Cor Vitae and Paul Dudley White Legacy Society) goal(s) in both number of members and overall fiscal year financial goal(s) are met.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Meets or exceeds fiscal year targets for retention, new members and financial goals for Cor Vitae Society and Paul Dudley White Legacy Society for assigned geography, raising at least $350,000 annually
  • Implements the Cor Vitae strategy for assigned geographic areas. Identify and strategically partner with top events within assigned geography to ensure Cor Vitae experience is leveraged. Implements Cor Vitae and Paul Dudley White Legacy recognition and engagement at top events as assigned. Personally, meets with Metro Executive Directors and their teams at minimum twice per year, face to face, to strategically plan and support implementation of Cor Vitae and Paul Dudley White Legacy Society strategies including renewal process, new potential donors and deep engagement with field staff teams. With Director, Giving Societies engages in continuous quality improvement and strategic implementation of Cor Vitae and Paul Dudley White Legacy efforts beyond special events focus to increase retention and new members
  • Completes 150 Face to Face Donor Visits in a fiscal year. Enters all engagements, visits and interactions into BB CRM within a 72-hour period of donor engagement
  • Implements overarching stewardship strategy within assigned geography, ensuring donors are actively stewarded from point of organizational entry through engagement with major gifts and Charitable Estate Planning
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience:
  • Working directly with donors
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills with all levels of staff, prospects, volunteers and donors
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to initiate and follow-through on opportunities to engage with volunteers and donors

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape.
  • Experience using donor relationship management software, such as BBCRM, Blackbaud, Dynamics and/or Raiser’s Edge.
