Program Director Youth Market

Responsible for driving operational planning and execution to achieve significant revenue increases in Youth Market programs and fundraising events: Kids Heart Challenge, American Heart Challenge and District Heart Challenge. In support of the 2020 Impact Goal, responsible for driving Youth Market programs from their current $85M in revenue to $200M by 2020 – representing 20% of the AHA’s $1 billion revenue goal.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead online technology planning, development and training through day to day management and innovation in support of the Youth Market strategic plan. Develops and executes operations, training and marketing plan for Youth Market strategies – including integration of technology as a key tool to drive revenue and engagement.
  • Develop tools and program training and materials for Youth events focused on the highest impact priorities to drive goal achievement. Balance the strategic (big picture) focus with day-to-day execution.
  • Oversee annual planning and creation of promotions, communication and reward tools to support 100 thousand schools throughout the country.
  • Lead development of database, digital fundraising and marketing to transition existing volunteers to new engagement practices.
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with internal departments such as Business Technology, finance, design center, purchasing, legal, branding and marketing.
  • Develops and executes measurement and evaluation plans to report on engagement, revenue and goal achievement.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Physical Education, Nutrition, Communications, Public Health or related area
Skills/Experience: 
  • Five (5) years of experience in developing programs and train the trainer documentation to introduce adoption of new events and volunteer engagement
  • Five (5 ) years of experience with national marketing and communications planning and delivery
  • Five (5) years of experience working with top level volunteers
  • Two (2) years of experience working cross-functionally to extend and implement national strategies on a local level
  • Excellent writing ability, presentation skills, project management, and ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to productively participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects while producing positive results
  • Comprehensive computer and digital media skills including Microsoft Office products and Customer Relationship Management applications (Blackbaud, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel up to 15%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and/or experience in volunteer and mission-driven health organizations, preferably non-profit
