The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Healthcare Quality Informatics Analyst based out of our National Center office. The Healthcare Quality Informatics Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Advocacy and Quality Improvement business team through management of the activities related to the development of enhancements and maintenance of the Patient Management Tool/AHA QI Clinical decision support tools for the Get With the Guidelines suite of Quality Improvement programs. This position will also implement and support GWTG solutions for Health Systems, EHR vendors, EPCR Vendors, and Research partners. This position will also help implement data solutions for the migration of GWTG to an e platform. The position will serve as resident expert on these enhancements and their functionality.
- Data Management and Measurement: oversee technological specification development for assigned GWTG modules. This includes identifying necessary changes to the data platform, developing specifications or requirements, reviewing vendor deliverables, evaluating customer acceptance
- Product Management Support: Collaborate with Sr. Manager, Healthcare Quality Informatics, Science and Medicine Advisors, volunteers, and strategic alliances to support complete integration of the most up to date science within available technological tools and resources. Specifically work with the organization’s volunteer committees to ensure appropriate integration of the Guidelines into the technological specifications while also confirming that these updates are appropriate for the marketplace
- Product Integration/Expansion: key role in the implementation of e specifying GWTG project and pilots. Is the point person for technology overlap of Get With The Guidelines projects as assigned
- Staff and Field Support Lead and coordinate staff and customer webinars; provide insight and guidance on technology updates and enhancements. Provide ongoing QI staff support and training as program technology subject matter expert
- Budget management and reporting: Manage budgets for ongoing projects as requested.
- Project Management and Support: Coordinate and support GWTG customized programs and research projects as assigned
- Strategic Planning: Support the collaboration with business team partners in development of AHA strategic plans and Quality team business plans as it relates to program technology applications
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience
- Experience working in healthcare, hospital quality improvement, or related field
- Experience in health technology product management
- Supervisory experience managing multiple direct reports
- Experience in management of large data sets, measure development and applications
- Ability to effectively work with physician experts and scientific thought leaders
- Ability to understand, interpret and communicate clinical information. Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular clinical knowledge a must
- Knowledge of voluntary health organizations and experience in group process with the ability to resolve conflicts and gain consensus through mediation and collaboration
- Ability to travel 20% local and overnight stay

- Demonstrated ability to negotiate vendor contracts and manage vendor deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships with external partners and allied organizations
- Experience in product lifecycle management, particularly with product maintenance and new product development
- Must have excellent presentation and negotiating skills.
