Evaluation Consultant - Neighborhood Revitalization

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a skilled Evaluation Consultant - Neighborhood Revitalization to join our Affiliate Services team. Reporting to the Manager - Affiliate Services, the Evaluation Consultant provides direct consulting, coaching, facilitation and training on MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) and community development. The consultant works as part of a team of consultants working in different focus areas related to neighborhood revitalization and organizational development and will help to build strong Habitat for Humanity (HFH) affiliates and coalitions that are implementing neighborhood revitalization (NR) strategies to improve the quality of life of residents in a focus neighborhood or area. This position will be located remotely and will require approximately 30% domestic travel. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Provide direct consulting support to HFH affiliates and their coalition partners

  • Consult with affiliates and their coalition partners in developing capacity and competencies for MEAL related activities
  • Provide support to affiliates and their coalition partners to create and implement MEAL plans focused on measurable outcomes
  • Co-design, implement, and assess monitoring frameworks for affiliates and coalitions in individual communities
  • Assist affiliates with data analysis and utilization and educate affiliates on the utility of evaluation approaches
  • Equip affiliates and their coalition partners to effectively implement feedback loops into their work with neighborhood residents and other stakeholders
  • Create dashboards, maps and other visuals to report on data and trends at the neighborhood level
  • Organize and facilitate meetings related to evaluation with neighborhood partners and residents

Equip HFH affiliates and their coalition partners in community development and evaluation through training and the development of knowledge resources

  • Develop and refine guides, toolkits and other resources related to MEAL and community development
  • Deliver training on MEAL, the Quality of Life framework and other community development related topics at events, conferences and webinars as assigned
  • Organize NR affiliate community of practice calls and a virtual training series with shared implementation from the NR consulting team

Support the efficient and effective implementation of NR, a national level approach of Habitat for Humanity International

  • Manage the development of content and distribution of a NR monthly newsletter
  • Promote collaboration between HFHI and affiliates for information sharing, reporting, and training. Capture success stories, promising practices and sample materials from affiliates to share with the wider network
  • Assist HFHI team with the analysis and reporting of NR affiliate data
Educational Background: 
Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5 years in asset-based community development and effective resident management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of survey design and geospatial analytics
  • Excellent written, verbal and oral presentation skills
  • Sensitivity and working knowledge of cultural diversity and social issue
  • Outstanding people skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player in a virtual setting with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and qualitative research skills, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of affordable housing issues and effective strategies
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Habitat for Humanity mission

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in process consulting
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative and qualitative analytical software such as SPSS or STATA
  • Awareness of policies regarding protection of human subjects and children data
  • Masters degree
  • Bilingual
