Business Development Director

We currently have a great job opportunity for a Business Development Director in our Southern Arizona Division to grow our Go Red For Women Campaign. As the Director, you work with an executive level volunteer team and collaborate with staff, to plan, manage and implement the Go Red For Women campaign, with a fiscal year net goal of $255,000 generated through corporate sponsorship and individual giving.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directly responsible for the Go Red For Women campaign through effective volunteer leadership recruitment and engagement, securing new and cultivating existing corporate relationships and individual donors, and collaborating with internal and external partners to expand our mission’s reach across Southern Arizona.
  • Prospect and secure local corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and auction items
  • Lead recruitment, planning, cultivation and stewardship activities
  • Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day of the event volunteers
  • Execute the event logistics based on national best practices
  • Promote Go Red for Women campaign initiatives and support and ensure full activation of corporate partnerships
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years successful experience in fundraising, sales or marketing
  • Ability to recruit, train and manage leadership volunteers to achieve goals
  • Ability to thrive in a results-driven and collaborative environment with highly effective organization, multi-tasking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed

Here are some of the preferred experience/skills we are looking for:

  • Experience with the American Heart Association or similar non-profit experience in a fundraising position
  • Experience in closing high level corporate sponsorship
  • Experience working with individual giving
  • Comfortable with B2B networking and outreach including cold calls
