The Development Manager will provides leadership and assistance in the growth and development of the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean Counties’ resource development goals. The Development Manager will assist in creating and executing the annual development plan; 2) provide leadership for special events and workplace campaigns; 3) provide assistance to donation drives; 4) assist with individual donor engagement; 5) provide general administrative support and oversite.
Areas of Responsibility:
Corporate Campaigns
- Manage workplace campaigns including cultivating relationships with campaign coordinators and senior management, scheduling campaign rallies and speakers, planning meetings and the creation of campaign materials.
- Update donor database (ANDAR) with corporate campaign information, including data mining and report production. Use campaign reports to provide analysis on giving trends company and churn analysis.
- Assist with campaign related website, social media content and text to give campaigns.
- Responsible for all agency related campaigns.
Special Events Management
- Lead and manage the logistics for several special events including sponsorship and gift solicitation, ad journal, event logistics and acknowledgements. Special events include Gala, Spring Tee-Off and Casino Night. Assistance with Donor Recognition and Women United Mix & Mingle membership event as well. All special events are off-site and will require night hours.
Donation Drive Support
- Provide staff support for all donation drives. Coordinate all corporate participation in donation drives. This may include but is not limited to: solicitation emails, mailings, preparing acknowledgements, packing event supplies and materials or other event preparation and follow-up duties.
- Contribute to overall team effort by attending off-site donation drive events which may include night and weekend hours. Able to drive cargo van to and from donation sites.
Individual Donor Engagement
- Participate in community activities which contribute to the acquisition and retention of individual donors.
- Assist in the cultivation and management of ongoing relationships with current and prospective donors.
- Assist in providing ongoing and timely donor recognition and appreciation.

- Complete other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Skills/Experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
- Excellent communications skills, both in speech and writing; pleasant and personable manner
- Ability to work well with a variety of people
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to think and plan ahead
- Team oriented personality; willingness to help where needed
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, work independently and complete projects
- Ability to balance work load according to organizational priorities
- Ability to lift cartons or packages in excess of 20 lbs. or to stand/sit for extended periods of time
- Valid NJ Driver’s License with no more than 2 moving violation points required
- References required with application
Education and Experience Required:
- A passion for the work of UWMOC
- Related work experience preferred

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $51,000 to $60,000 per year
