World Vision Albania and Kosovo (WVA&K) is committed to raise resources for its relief and development program in Albania and Kosovo. The Marketing and Fundraising Manager will ensure that WVA&K has a strategic vision for its marketing and fundraising work to maximize the current and future donor’s potential to provide financial resources to WVA&K.
The purpose of the role will be to build long term profitable fundraising initiatives by researching, shaping and implementing the organization’s fundraising plan, generating new and sustainable income streams via a range of corporate, philanthropy and individual partners. This is a high profile role involving interaction with a range of people from across corporate and individual segments, including WVA&K networks, and raise awareness of the organization and its work, at both a local and national level, this will involve giving talks to groups or dealing with the media.
Local fundraising strategy development and implementation
- Develops the local fundraising strategy and plan in consultation with the National Director and senior leadership team to maximize funds.
- Identify fundraising campaign ideas and other fundraising opportunities for WVA&K and identify ways to creatively make them happen.
Marketing and Fundraising mechanism established and functional
- Build and maintain individual based marketing and fundraising mechanism.
- Engage in building relationships with corporates and philanthropy organizations to invite them to participate in and contribute to World Vision’s mission.
- Develop a well-established platform for maintaining donors engaged and committed to their promises and ensure donor care.
- Builds and maintain new profitable, long-term fundraising relationships with corporate and potential corporate sponsors.
- Ensure the external communication is done with professionalism and accuracy.
- Works towards accomplishment of targets by obtaining funds, finances, in-kind donations or volunteer teams.
- Ensure update is provided on regular bases to the donors and other partners involved
Local marketing implementation plans are in place
- Work with senior management and project leaders to design and develop specific marketing plans that are aligned with WVA&K business objectives.
- Marketing products are in place following the right process.
- Maintain liaison with relevant Public Relations, internet, marketing agencies and corporations in Albania.
- Implement fundraising campaigns and other donor’s acquisition and cultivation efforts.
- Implement a donor cultivation and care strategy using mail, phone and personal meetings with donors.
- Implement strategies for creative work and events as described above.
- Create process papers and implementation plans for WVA&K website that will help people coming in contact with WVA&K to experience the significance of making a difference in the lives of others and contribute financial resources to WVA&K.
- Manages key accounts from creation, day to day correspondence up to complete follow-up of any donation activity.
Build relationships with other Partners in the NGO community
- Become an active participant in the NGO and marketing community in Albania.
Leadership and Capacity building
- Provide strong Servant Leadership to the Marketing and Fundraising Team.
- Lead, Encourage, Support, Coach and Mentor the team ensuring capacity is built and appropriate results are achieved. Coaching the team on WVI values, vision, mission and working principles as efficient and best as possible in the framework of WVA mission and National Strategy.
- Manage the recruitment process and staff performance that are in the direct supervision (in coordination with Human Resources).
- Support professional and personal development of staff through on-the-job coaching, identification of learning and training needs and opportunities.
- Lead and participate in the recruitment, selection and development of the team. Ensure competent and motivated staff are hired and retained.
- Establish clear standards of performance for all staff reporting to the position.

- Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages with multiple different priorities
- Able to work independently in a relatively unstructured but highly accountable environment
- Enthusiastic about fundraising and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the values and goals of World Vision Albania & Kosovo.
- Ability to build network and engage at strategic level with marketing agencies and corporations in Albania.
- Self-motivated
- At least 5 years in marketing management experience or related fields.
- Proficient in English – writing and speaking.
- Experience in staff managing, monitoring and developing.
- Good knowledge of the NGO sector
- B-category driving license. Minimum of three years active driving experience
