The primary responsibilities of the job coach is to provide support and assistance in the area of community training and/ or community employment for the transition program and adult vocational program throughout the year.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Keep up to date with transition process for people with disabilities.
  • Provide/ schedule transportation to/from community training sites.
  • Provide individualized support to students/ clients in community training opportunities.
  • Consistently record performance data using individualized data tracking systems in conjunction with community placement profiles.
  • Maintain consistent communication with employer/ community job site.
  • Collaborate with administration and team members regarding recommendations through the year.
  • Participate in trainings as appropriate. 
  • Participate in team, planning, and IEP meetings as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain a system for consistent communication with team throughout the year. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • State Approved Paraprofessional License.     

 Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with special needs population.

Vehicle/Transportation Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Auto insurance.
  • Reliable vehicle.

 Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to perform all functions necessary to obtain certification in PCM.
  • Ability to participate in all Department of Human Services training requirements.
  • Eligible for Paraprofessional.
  • Eligible for Driver Certification.
